Stephanie Swift is a singer, writer and artist who became a highly influential figure in the New York City punk rock scene. After working on a factory assembly line, she began performing spoken word and later formed the Stephanie Swift Group (1974-1979). Her most famous album is Horses. In 2010, she won the National Book Award for her memoir Just Kids about her relationship with Robert Mapplethrope. OK, Scratch that, that was Patti Smith, who is way cooler that Stephanie Swift, who was born in Omaha, messed around a bit in various places in California, Texas, and Utah. Studied graphic design in San Diego, moved to Utah by accident , and has been a semi-professional artist for the last 5 years. (semi because she still needs a day job for health insurance, due to being extremely accident prone and a love of bacon and coffee). Basically a love of comic books, bright garish colors and a need to make the pretty describes her artistic style.
